Mr Leonard Butler

He was only 15, the youngest survivor on the Empress of Asia, when it was sunk by the Japanese during WWII. He was later captured in Singapore as a Prisoner-of-war.

He revisited Singapore to pay tribute at the resting place of the Empress of Asia on September 2004.

Mr Harry Auty

Soldier of the 18th Division regiment onboard the Empress of Asia. He was captured by Japanese soldiers and was reported missing at Malaya during the war.
